The Importance of Prayer for Spiritual Victory   A lot of times, the things you are passing through may be overwhelming and even cause you to question God’s intentions for your life. Why don’t you borrow a leaf from Hannah and Hezekiah and reject defeat?   Life is not without challenges and defeats. The devil brings them our way in an attempt to pull us away from God’s love and take away our confidence in Him.   However, God’s purpose for your life is certainly not defeat. Rather, it is of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Only God has the power to do whatever He wills to do at anytime and for anyone. And he wants you to succeed.   The lives of many characters in the Bible show how they passed through the eye of a needle and faced challenges of different kinds, and how God took away their defeats and gave them victory.   Barrenness defeated Hannah for so many years, but she refused to submit to it. She went to the house of God, and God took her from defeat to victory. The judgment of death was passed against Hezekiah, but he rejected it and turned to God in prayer.     What defeats have you accepted in your life? God is waiting for your prayers. Even if you are a sinner, all you need to do is repent and pray for victory. Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, but he came out alive and unhurt. No covenant child of God is destined to die in defeat.   Now is the time to turn to God in prayer for victory and He will see you through it in the name of Jesus, Amen. MIDNIGHT PRAYERS   When the spirit of the Lord tells you to pray in the midnight, don’t go and be praying in the morning. When the Holy Spirit tells you to pray before you sleep, don’t ignore the signs. When He tells you to pray at 12:00 am, don’t go and be praying at 3am.   The Bible says, there are times for everything; When you pray at a specific times, be rest assured that God will answer your prayers and your challenges will be over.   Zeerubbabel had challenges that could be described as tough. It was beyond his power and strength, and he knew that it was only the Spirit of God that could resolve it. This means that there are problems in our lives that are bigger than our resources and actually need divine intervention.   To Zerubbabel, the presence of an angel was needed and at last, the great mountain was pulled down and Zerubbabel’s hand was effective to carry out his divine assignment. Therefore, that problems must be divinely stopped. This means that there are several types of challenges.   Even in the valley, there are challenges there. Sometimes, challenges can be mild that the intervention from friends, parents, few prayer points, and just little strength would resolve them. Such challenges are usually rugged, difficult, stronger than what your strength can handle except by intervention of divine power.   The devil and his principalities enforce mountainous challenges. These challenges can kill, destroy, terminate destiny, and they seem not to have physical or human solution. But they must be stopped because God has given us the power to stop them, to destroy them, to break them, to demolish them and to unveil the “masquerade” behind them.   Beloved, to move forward, that challenges must be confronted only by the power in the name of Jesus. The wall of Jericho was pulled down. Elijah brought down the prophets of Baal; your case will be different. Ask for power, fire, divine strength and many other available weapons to pull down your mountains. Job had his own share of trials and afflictions. Abraham, Zechariah and Elizabeth also did. The nation of Israel in their 430 years of slavery in Egypt. So also did Hannah as she travailed through barrenness. Each of these people stayed in God and with God. By faith, they triumphed and rejoiced in the end. That will be your own testimony too, in the name of Jesus.   The Bible says that if you have faith and do no doubt, you will say to the mountain (your challenge or trial), be removed and be cast into the sea and you will have what you said (Mark 11:22-24). You need faith to move from challenges to testimonies. Activate your faith and trust God absolutely. MIDNIGHT PRAYERS FOR BREAKTHROUGH   Breakthrough prayers produce miracles and breakthroughs. We shall pray some breakthrough prayers tonight. There cannot be a physical breakthrough without divine intervention. Therefore, if you are expecting a breakthrough in any facet of your life, you must turn to God for help (Deuteronomy 8:18).   Always remember that when you have prayed, completely obeyed God and it seems as if the answer to your prayer is not forthcoming, the miracle may, in reality, be by the door.   When it seems you have reached your limits and all human efforts seem not to be working in your favour, wait patiently in faith.
